Sports Curriculum

At our school, we are deeply passionate about physical activity and dedicated to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among our students. We believe that physical activity plays a crucial role in their overall development.

To encourage regular physical exercise, our students wear a sports uniform three times a week and engage in one hour of compulsory physical activity on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. These sessions provide them with valuable opportunities to enhance their physical fitness and skills.

During our two thirty-minute breaks each day, we actively encourage our students to participate in soccer and other activities, promoting an active and energetic atmosphere. We believe that these breaks not only refresh their minds but also contribute to their overall well-being.

Our school boasts approximately three acres of grounds, specially designed to accommodate various physical activities. Despite being a small school, we ensure that all our offerings are tailored for small teams. Our range of sports includes 5-a-side soccer, mini-cricket, action netball, softball, 7-a-side tag rugby, volleyball, ball skills including hockey, and a super-circuit based on the Discovery Vitality playground circuit.

To foster a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition, we have three sports houses: Roux, Greenway, and College. Our houses go head-to-head in two exhilarating sports days held each year. Though we may be small, we take great pride in our competitive spirit and our ability to instill a deep love for sports and outdoor activities in our students.

Furthermore, we are actively forging relationships with other small schools in our area. This initiative aims to create opportunities for sports outings and competitions in the near future, expanding our students' horizons and fostering a sense of unity within the community.

Our indoor sports court enables us to play netball, badmington, volleyball, gymnastics and mini-tennis during the winter months.

Looking ahead, our development plans include the construction of a Brazilian soccer pitch, an action netball and hockey court and an athletic track on our lower property as well as the establishment of an indoor gymnastics area in our hall. These additions will further enhance our sports facilities, enabling our students to engage in a wider range of activities and develop their skills.

In addition to our core curriculum, we offer a variety of extra mural activities to provide students with even more opportunities for physical activity. These include Ballet, Creative Dance and Karate, which take place from 14h30 to 15h30 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. These extracurricular activities offer an additional two hours of engaging and enjoyable physical exercise each week.
